6th Glamour of Jasmine Chinese Arts Festival/
Pipa (Jing-hua GAO) & Erhu (Zhi-qin ZHU)
Pipa and erhu are commonly nicknamed as Chinese lute and Chinese violin. Jing-hua GAO and Zhi-qin ZHU, both graduate students at China Conservatory and multi-prize winners from childhood are making their UK debut this summer by giving a concert on these two characteristic Chinese musical instruments with over 1,000 years of history of being main participants in Chinese ensembles but originally arrived from abroad. Some of the most precious historical scores will be featured alongside with contemporary works. Part of the 6th Glamour of Jasmine Chinese Arts Festival.
